State Bank of India (SBI), India’s largest public sector lender, announced the launch of WhatsApp Banking services to make banking easier for its customers. SBI customers can use WhatsApp to access some of the lender’s banking services, which may be convenient for many because it eliminates the need to download the app or visit an ATM. SBI Chairman Dinesh Khara had revealed plans for the bank to use WhatsApp just days before.

To use this service, you must first register with SBI WhatsApp Banking. Send an SMS with the text WAREG, your account number, and a space between them to 7208933148. One thing to keep in mind is that you must send this SMS from the phone number associated with your SBI account.

SBI Card WhatsApp services
Additionally, the State Bank of India provides WhatsApp-based services to credit card customers via the platform. SBI credit cardholders can use this to view their account summary, reward points, outstanding balance, and other details. To participate in the scheme, cardholders must text “OPTIN” to the number 9004022022. To sign up for the service, they can use the mobile app or a missed call to 08080945040 from the registered mobile phone
