Anne Heche, the actress, is said to be in critical condition after crashing her car into a house in Los Angeles' Mar Vista neighbourhood.

The LAFD confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that Heche was the registered owner of the vehicle

and that she was severely burned in the accident.

According to the department, Heche was under the influence of alcohol and driving erratically.

When Heche allegedly crashed the vehicle into the 738-square-foot, 70-year-old home around noon Friday

it caused structural damage and a large fire. Nearly 60 firefighters responded to the scene
