Yuvraj Singh: Thieves Steal Money and Jewellery from Former Cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s Home

Panchkula: In a shocking incident, thieves broke into the home of former Indian cricket team player Yuvraj Singh and stole cash and jewellery worth lakhs. The theft took place when Yuvraj’s mother Shabnam Singh was away at her Gurgaon residence.

Theft Discovered on October 5, 2023

Shabnam Singh told the media that she had been staying at her Gurgaon home since September 2023. She returned to her Panchkula home on October 5, 2023 and found that the money and jewellery were missing from her locked cupboard.

She said that the thieves had taken about Rs 75,000 in cash and several items of jewellery. She suspected that two old domestic workers who had quit their jobs during Diwali were behind the theft.

Police Register Case and Start Investigation

The police have registered a case of theft and are trying to trace the culprits. SHO Mansa Devi said that they could not reveal much details to the media as it would hamper the investigation.

He said that they were checking the CCTV footage and interrogating the suspects. He assured them that they would soon crack the case and recover the stolen valuables.

Sourav Ganguly’s Home Also Had Theft Recently

This is not the first time that a former Indian cricketer’s home has been targeted by thieves. Recently, Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of the Indian team and the current president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), also reported a theft at his Kolkata home.

Ganguly’s grandfather’s mobile phone was stolen from his house when some renovation work was going on. The police suspected that some of the workers who were involved in the work had taken the phone.

Yuvraj Singh is a World Cup Winning Player

Yuvraj Singh is one of the most celebrated cricketers in India. He was a key member of the Indian team that won the 2011 World Cup under the leadership of MS Dhoni. He was also awarded the Man of the Tournament for his outstanding performance.

Yuvraj Singh showed great courage and determination when he battled a rare form of cancer called mediastinal seminoma. He underwent chemotherapy in the US and returned to India in 2012. He made a comeback to the Indian team and continued to play till 2017.

He announced his retirement from international cricket in 2019. He is currently playing in various domestic and foreign T20 leagues. He is also involved in various social and charitable causes.
